AQUARIUM

The South Carolina Aquarium in Charleston was beautifully done.   The main show tank is a  two-story Great Ocean Tank which holds 385,000 gallons of salt water and contains hundreds of animals, including sharks, pufferfish and a loggerhead sea turtle that weighs over 220 pounds.

The Madagascar exhibit with lemurs, otters, a salt marsh aviary as well as other exhibits were great but the 4D Theater had us laughing out loud.  The film was only 15 minutes long and was Planet Earth: Shallow Seas.  OMG, you had wind blowing, your seat rumbling with the waves, mists of water spraying you, BUBBLES floating throughout the room and when a giant eel comes up to your face in 3-D, you get a poke in your back from your seat!  The four girls sitting in front of us all screamed.  It was hilarious!  If you ever get a chance to go to a 4-D theater, don't miss it.
This photo doesn't do this tank justice because it is
two stories high and the fish are huge!
