There were two stops of interest while traveling thru the rest of North Carolina. One was Mackey's Gun Shop. The sign read "The Largest Gun Shop In The World"! I don't know about that but Bill looked like a kid in a candy store. Bill said too bad Fred isn't with us. The place was five or six Butler Buildings connected together all filled with guns.
The second place of interest was a BarBQ place we stopped at for lunch that was listed on Trip Adviser as the best around. What a trip! You could eat inside or order thru a window. The metal handle on the front screen door was broken off with just a stub of ragged metal left to pull the door open. The place had about ten small tables and most were filled although it was close to 2:00 p.m. There were also people sitting in their cars and trucks eating and a line at the take out window. We got in line to place our order and had fun watching four women buzzing around at high speed getting everyone's orders filled. While filling orders they were gossiping about another woman and the strong southern accents were a blazin'. The Bar-B-Q was as AWESOME as the experience!
