We have been on the road for two full days.  As we headed to the east coast, we've had a winter storm following us.  It was a pretty uneventful day driving thru Michigan and the Ohio Turnpike is BORING!  We stayed last night in Milan Ohio, just south of Sandusky, which has one water park resort after another but the whole place had a horrible smell like tar pits.

This morning we hit the Ohio turnpike again and on to the Pennsylvania turnpike which is much more interesting as it passes through the Appalachian Mountains and goes thru a couple of mile long tunnels.  You get a good glimpse at some charming towns tucked in the valleys as well as several run down trailer parks tucked in the woods on the sides of the mountains.  There was still some snow in them there mountains but the roads were clear.

We settled down early today in Fredericksburg Virginia.  Our plans are to visit some Civil War battlefields in the morning before the expected rain hits the area and we head further south to Norfolk.
