MYRTLE BEACH

MYRTLE BEACH

Bill and I were last here five years ago but in the Fall.  Summer here is too crowded and too hot so being here in Early Spring was nice too.  Golf?  I believe there are now 138 golf courses in the area!  We decided to golf at Man O War.  I like all the water throughout the course. I did quite well and Bill did really well even though we hadn't golfed since last September.  The temperature hit 68 degrees so we had a wonderful time.  No alligators on the course this time but a lot of storks, egrets and a flock of vultures even landed next to us.  By the way I only lost three balls in the water.  :-)

One restaurant we've talked about for the past five years is Captain Nance's near Calabash North Carolina.  It's right down at the shrimp docks; nothing special to look at, but they serve the best Calabash Style Shrimp ever.  It was a pleasure to eat there again!

Our meals in summary:  shrimp, crab cakes, shrimp, steak, shrimp, Bar-B-Q, crab, Calabash shrimp, Bar-B-Q, shrimp, etc. etc.  So many shrimp, so little time.

We stayed at North Plantation in North Myrtle Beach.   Our luxury suite was almost as big as our house. We were on the 12th floor, ocean view and had a lovely deck to enjoy. It also had a full kitchen, washer and dryer, vacuum cleaner ( like I'd use one on vacation) two walk in closets and even a door bell. However, where most people would have loved the soft pillow topped bed, it was not good for my back.   As for how my back is doing?  I'm not even going there.
